Mrs. Candice Marie Powers, age 43, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 17, 1983.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Alex Collins and her maternal grandparents, Jerry Wayne Martin and Dolly Faye Martin.

She is survived by her husband, Chad Johnson, of the home; her mother, Angela Addesso (Dennis) of Grays Creek; her adopted father, John Kevin Powers (Sherry); her three children, Haley Marie Hodge (A.J. McCarver) of Smithfield, William Taylor Leggett of the home, and Kenzi Marie Taylor of Lumberton; two brothers, John F. Powers and Kevin A. Powers, both of Grays Creek; her two special nieces, Madelynn and Emma Grace Powers; a grandson, Jaxson McCarver as well as a granddaughter due October 2026.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Vertical Church, 4330-B Kahn Drive in Lumberton, with Pastor Hector Miray officiating.
