Mr. Calvin Talton, age 88, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Robeson County on June 9, 1924 to the late Charles Oscar Talton and the late Theodocia Parnell Talton. He was formerly self-employed as a paint contractor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Grady Talton, and his sister, Myrtle Talton Freeman.

Mr. Talton is survived by three sons, Calvin Eugene Talton and wife, Sandra, of Lumberton, Johnny Talton and wife, Vicky, of Lumberton, and David Michael Talton, of Wilmington; a daughter, Patricia Himmelwright, of Wilmington; two grandsons, Richard Law and wife, Robin, and William Calvin Talton and wife, Jamie; three great-grandchildren, Marshall Law, Calleigh Talton, and Charleigh Talton; and a loving, special niece and friend, Ellen Rose Dishman. The family would like to thank Ellen for all her loving support and kindness.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, with Rev. Ellis Autry officiating. Burial will follow.
