Buck Parnell, age 79, of Clarkton, NC passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County on January 16, 1935 to the late Ervin and Caroline Parnell. He served as a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a pastor for many years. Mr. Parnell is survived by his wife, Ada Parnell of the home; sons, Donald Parnell and wife, Gray of Nakina and Buckie Parnell of Clarkton; a daughter, Debbie Yarborough and husband, Joe of Clarkton; a brother, Kirk Parnell of Lumberton; a sister Virginia Davis of Lumberton; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lumberton with Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and Rev. Gary Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.
