Brian Murray Lindsay, age 44, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Kay Lindsay and his paternal grandparents, Clyde M. Lindsay, Sr. and Kathleen Lindsay.

Brian was born on August 13, 1979 in Robeson County, NC.  He graduated from Lumberton Senior High School in 1997 and from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he received a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications.  He was able to utilize his creative and artistic talents as the owner and founder of his photography and videography company, B.L. Productions. Brian enjoyed shooting, editing and producing videos for weddings, real estate and corporate events.

He was previously employed with the Public Schools of Robeson County where he taught English and Journalism at Lumberton High School.  Brian was also in charge of directing "The Jib", a daily student production program and served on the school yearbook committee.  Following his move to Wilmington, Brian spent the last year as an English teacher at Laney High School.

Throughout his career in education, he had a huge impact on his students, several of which he influenced to pursue careers in photography, videography, broadcasting and journalism.  Of all of his accomplishments, his source of greatest pride was always his daughter, Sydney, the apple of his eye.  He will forever be remembered for the joy he brought to so many, both near and far.

He is survived by his daughter, Sydney Reese Lindsay, his pride and joy, of Wilmington, NC; his father, Clyde M. Lindsay, Jr. (Mary "M.T.") of Rowland, NC; one brother, Jamie Shawn Lindsay of Rowland and his children, Justin and Ali; one sister, Amanda Lindsay McCormick (Charley) of Winnabow, NC and their children, Donna Beth, Hanna, and Chase; two step-sisters, Madolyn Britt of Maryland and Helaina Scott (Chris) of Ayden, NC and their daughter, Lacey; his best friend and business partner, Jeremy Parnell of Wilmington, NC; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members and his beloved dogs, Mei, Eevee, Ellie, and Piper.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Gary Henderson officiating.

Flowers are welcome, but if you wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Brian's late mother, Donna Kay Lindsay.
