Brenda Walters West, age 67, of Lumberton, NC died on Sunday, May 06, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on October 16, 1944 to the late Willis Walters, Sr. and the late Grace Cox Walters. She retired from Wesley Pines Retirement Community in Lumberton having worked as a dietary aid.

Mrs. West is survived by her husband, Elwood West, Sr. of the home; her children, Elwood West, Jr. and wife Kim, Audrey Morton and husband, Jerome and Bobbie West and fiancé Larry Turner, all of Lumberton, Edwin West of Weldon, Ricky West and wife Kim of Currie and Dennis West and wife Lucy of Atkinson; a brother Willis Walters, Jr. of Lumberton; four sisters, Peggy Parker of Lumberton, Martha Ivey of Orrum, Sandra Parker of Hope Mills and Myra Wilkins of Lumberton; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law, Theresa Wiggins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Long Branch Baptist Church in Lumberton with Pastor Jeff Broadwell and Pastor Bob Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the West Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
