Brenda Hunt Spaulding, 55, of Pembroke, NC, gained her wings on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center of Wilmington, NC.  She was born to the late Nathan Hunt, Jr. and Lucy D. Bartley on March 7, 1967 in Marlboro County, SC.

She fondly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved shopping at Maxway in Pembroke, NC. Her favorite food was chicken and noodles and she enjoyed drinking Mountain Dew. She also enjoyed watching Fear Factor, Hoarders, and the Lifetime Network. She absolutely loved listening to gospel music and her favorite song was "Jesus (I Love Calling Your Name)" by Shirley Caesar.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Almena Bartley, and her brother, James "Lumbee" Hunt.

She is survived by her sons: Thomas Hunt of Lumberton, NC, Daniel Hunt (Dorthy "Dee Dee") of Lumberton, NC, and Patrick Acosta (Michael) of the home; her sisters, Carol Ann Hunt and Patsy Jones, both of Lumberton, NC; six grandchildren: Ariana Spivey, Ethan Haggins, Daniel Hunt, Jr., Layla Hunt, Gabriel Hunt, and Kayden Hunt; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to her nurse, Christina Oxendine; a special friend, Arlene Chavis; and also to Advantage Behavioral Healthcare and their staff.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 3:00-4:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM with Rev. Timmy Hunt officiating.
