With hope in the Resurrection, we announce the passing of our loved one, Brenda Watkins Lininger. She was born on January 26,1942, in Charlotte, NC; however, she lived most of her life in Lumberton, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Sarah Watkins; and husbands, William Hall and Ivan Wayne Lininger.

Brenda was a very loving, caring, and giving person. She was always willing to help others and share anything that she had. Even though she had no children, Brenda loved three generations of nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She adored them; and they adored her.

Brenda worked many years at Lumber River Real Estate as office manager. She enjoyed helping with color schemes and selecting cabinets and fixtures for new houses. She took great pride in the looks of the finished homes.

Decorated trees can be a tree with ornaments, or it can be a masterpiece. Brenda created masterpieces. Every decoration was in its perfect place, and her tree usually contained burgundy and Victorian highlights.She decorated trees for various family members and for several years she helped trim the trees in Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

The most important things in Brenda's life were her family and friends. She cherished the time she spent with them and was very proud of all of them. She shared their sorrows as well at their joyful times. Brenda will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Brenda is survived by her brother and his wife, Thomas (Tommy) Watkins and Patsy. Their daughter Sheila Forrest (Rob Redfearn), her children – Grey Sweeney (Stephen Parker), Ian Sweeney (Sarah), and their daughter, Darcy Grey Sweeney, Raleigh Forrest (Jillian Davis), and Chloe Forrest. Tommy and Patsy's son, David Watkins (Rebecca) and their children, Mack Watkins and Effie Watkins. Brenda is also survived by her sister, Mary Vivian Watkins Tyler. Mary Vivian's daughter Randi Tyler Turner (David) and their children, Kaylee Collins (Caleb Koment) and Daniel Collins and Mary Vivian's son, Nicholas Caleb Tyler (his fiancé, Amanda Huff and her daughter Maddie) and Nicholas' children – Jack Tyler, Claire Tyler, Jamie Tyler, and Benjamin Tyler.

The visitation will be Saturday March 21, 2026 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton, NC.
