Brenda Bullock Cox, age 72, of Lumberton, NC went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 22, 1941 to the late J.T and Mildred Lovette Bullock. She previously worked for BB&T Bank in Human Resources. She was a proud volunteer for the Pine Knoll Shores Fire & Rescue Squad in the 1980's. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. Along with her parents she was recently preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Cox, Jr. Mrs. Cox is survived by her son, James W. Cox III and wife Pollyanna of Pine Knoll Shores; a daughter, Samantha Cox Oppenheimer and husband Lee of Hilton Head Island, SC; brothers, David Bullock of Lumberton and Johnny Bullock of Fairmont; and four grandchildren, James Dylan Cox, Jared Thomas Cox, Adam Brandon Oppenheimer, and Mark Ryan Oppenheimer. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Lumberton First Baptist Church with Dr. David Elks officiating. The burial will be a private family burial.
