Mr. Bobby Keith McArthur, age 76, of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Highland Acres Nursing Center in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County on January 1, 1938 to the late Julian Oliver McArthur and the late Aline Britt McArthur. Mr. McArthur retired after twenty years of service with the US Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Burton McArthur; his son, John Douglas McArthur and his brother, James Stafford McArthur. He leaves to cherish his memories with his daughter, Angela Holmes and husband, Stoney of Lumberton; two brothers, Larry McArthur of Rowland and Morton McArthur of Aberdeen; two sisters, Betty Jo Humphrey of Lumberton and Frances Clifton of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Candice Simpson, Courtney Simpson and Justin McArthur; five great-grandchildren, Landon Simpson, Chloe Locklear, Madison Locklear, Braydon Lowery and Jayden Lowery. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 1:00-2:00PM at East Lumberton Church of God. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 2:00PM at East Lumberton Church of God with Rev. Bruce Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow at McArthur Family Cemetery on Hwy. 130 South in Fairmont.
