Mr. Bobbie Lee Gillespie, age 69, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020. He was born on December 9, 1950 in Bladen County to the late William Gillespie and the late Bernice Banner Gillespie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Lora Smith Gillespie of the home; three sons: Keith Love and Spencer Smith, both of Lumberton, and Bobby Gillespie of Cary, NC; two daughters, Melissa Gillespie of Cary, NC and Jasmine Smith of Lumberton; five grandchildren; one brother, Danny Gillespie and wife Brenda of Lumberton; four sisters: Ella Gillespie of New York, NY, Virginia Lennon of Philadelphia, PA, Bernicteen Gillespie and husband Eddie of Lumberton, and Ronnie Gillespie of Bladenboro, NC; a special friend, Vermale McPhatter of Laurinburg; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2019, at 2:00 PM at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church, 950 Linkhaw Road in Lumberton,  with Rev. Brenda Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
