Mr. Billy Ray Taylor, age 68, of Bladenboro, NC, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Cape Fear Hospice House in Whiteville, NC. He was born in Robeson County on December 17, 1950 to the late Homer Taylor and the late Rosa Downing Taylor. He was formerly employed as a welder for Mueller Steam Co.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Freeman Taylor; his wife, Mary Jane Carlton Taylor; two brothers, Richard Taylor and Homer Edward Taylor; and two sisters, Margie Baxley and Kathy Annette Taylor Hendrix.

He is survived by two sons, Billy Ray Taylor II and fiancée Lori Doughtrey of Abbottsburg, NC and Michael Carlton and wife Diane of Lumberton; three daughters: Lisa Taylor Turbeville and husband Craig "Turbo" of Clarkton, NC and Ivy Taylor and Christy Taylor Ezzell and husband Jeff, all of Bladenboro, NC; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Rosa McLean and Frances Bailey, both of Lumberton, NC, Patricia Campbell of Raeford, NC, and Velma Davis of Bladenboro, NC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, with Rev. Arthur Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor Family Cemetery on Beulah Church Road in Lumberton.
