Billy Upton Spivey, 77, of 3775 King\\chr(39)s Cross Road, Lumberton, NC died on May 29, 2009 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born to Raymond L. Spivey, Sr. and Sallie Bryan on February 25, 1932 in Robeson County, NC.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Amy Robas, Helen Dew and Betty Tedder.

Mr. Spivey is survived by his wife, Margie Humphry Spivey of the home; his children, Jerry Spivey and wife Kimberli of Raleigh, NC, Cindy Spivey of Lumberton, NC, Bryan Spivey and wife Jill of Asheboro, NC, and James C. \\"Chuck\\" Spivey and wife Debbie of Franklin, TN; one brother, Raymond L. Spivey of Lumberton, NC, three sisters, Lou S. Snow of Wilimington, NC, Lillian S. Blake and husband Hutaff of Waynesville, NC, Joan S. Teague and husband Joe of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Megan Spivey of Durham, NC, Charlie Spivey of Fayetteville, NC, Allison Spivey of Greenville, NC, Dylan, Devin, Derek and Darbi Spivey, all of Franklin, TN; and one great-grandchild, Charles Spivey of Fayetteville, NC.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 1:30 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton, NC with the Reverends David Elks and Wayne Tyner officiating. Burial will be in the Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorial gifts be made to the Boy Scout Troop of First Baptist Church at the corner of 7th & Walnut Streets in Lumberton, NC.
