Billy Ricks Prevatte, age 49, of Matthews, NC died on Sunday, December 13, 2009 in Matthews, Mecklenburg County, NC. He was the son of Robert Ricks and Beulah Jernigan Prevatte and was born in Robeson County, NC on August 18, 1960. He was self-employed as a floor covering installer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Prevatte is survived by two brothers, William \\"Buddy\\" Prevatte and wife, Linda of Matthews, NC and Gene Prevatte of Indian Trail, NC; five sisters, Rachel Townsend and husband, Archie Eugene of Indian Trail, NC, Ruth Allen and husband, Eddie of Indian Trail, NC, Rene McKnight and husband, Jimmy of Proctorville, NC, Alice Prevatte of Lumberton, NC and Patsy Mayers of Lumberton, NC; a nephew, Ricky Britt of Lumberton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Trinity Fellowship Church, 13232 Idlewild Road, in Matthews, NC.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton, NC with Rev Bill Phipps and Rev. Steven Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont, NC.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.
