Mr. Billy Ray Johnson, age 78 of Fairmont went home to be with his beloved Lord on Thursday, May 27th 2010.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 29th 2010 at Oakton Baptist Church at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Donald Paschell and Rev. Tim Tyner officiating. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday May 28, 2010 from 7-9 pm at Floyd Funeral Services, Fairmont.

He was preceded in death by parents, Wade Larkin Johnson and Nina Prevatte Johnson, 2 brothers, Haynes Levore Johnson and Garron Pink Johnson, his in-laws, Forest and Evelyn Freeman Bullock.

Johnson was born September 4, 1931 in Robeson County. He retired from Business Linen Supply and over the years he was lovingly known as \\"the sheet shaker\\" by many family, friends, and acquaintances. He had a passion for his garden, both vegetables and flowers. He loved sharing God\\chr(39)s blessings of a bountiful harvest with old friends and those that would soon become new friends. He loved talking with people, always joking, his face quickly lighting up with a smile, and a quick comeback line.

Surviving are is wife of 53 wonderful years, Ida Brown Bullock Johnson of the home, 2 daughters, Nina Rose J. Johnson and Husband Lynwood of Fairmont and Mary Evelyn Johnson of Lumberton; 1 son; Billy Ray Johnson, Jr. and wife Debbie of TN;1 sister; Mary Gillie J. Carroll of Dublin; 9 grandchildren; Jason L. Johnson and fiance\\chr(39) Whitney Horne, Zachary E. Johnson, Ida Nesbeth Johnson, Cleveland Hammonds, Stevie Hammonds, Hunter Ray Johnson, Anthony Franklin, Jessica Shelton, Shane Ray, a special adopted grandson; Lil Larry Parker; 5 great-grandchildren; a former sister-in-law, Barbara J. Moore; as well as many nieces, nephews and precious friends.
