Mr. Billy Ray Cummings, age 49, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at his home. He was born in Robeson County, NC on March 23, 1972 to the late Otis Cummings and the late Lizzie Mae Barton Cummings.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Randy, Nelson, and Coolidge; a sister, Connie Cummings; and a son, Stephen Cummings.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Celeste Jones; five daughters, Tammy Hunt, Stephanie Fields, Sarah Cummings, Alissa Cummings, and Saleena Cummings; two sons, Michael Swanson and Billy Ray Cummings, Jr.; 7 grandchildren; a sister, Faye Cummings; and 7 brothers, Harold, Charles, Vernell, Bobby, Tony, Timmy, and Otis, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Oxendine Cemetery, located in the Union Chapel Community.
