Mr. Billie Gurnice Britt, age 84, of Orrum, NC died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Bloomingdale Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Fields officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Britt was preceded in death by a son Michael Britt and a daughter, Sharon B. White. He was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church most of his life and was also a Deacon, a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Men, served on the Board of Education at Orrum School, a farmer and Tobacco warehouse manager.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie Anna Britt of the home; two daughters, Frances Scott and husband, Bill of Lake View, SC and Sheila Heller of Garner, NC; one brother, Jack Britt of Fairmont, NC; two sisters, Norma Johnson of Fairmont, NC and Kitty Britt of Orrum, NC; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
