Beverly Britt Freeman Reaves, age 63, passed away at her home in Orrum, NC, on July 19, 2026.

She was born on October 4, 1962, in Lumberton, NC, and was preceded in death by her parents, Romulus and Theda Mae Freeman.

She is survived by her husband, Joeseph "Joe" Reaves; daughters, Brittni Branch (Scott) and Shaunya "Lucy" Woods; five grandchildren, Brayden Branch, Brody Branch, Hartley Milstead, Nathan Milstead, and Zachary Milstead; dear friend, Mary Pittman; three siblings, Elvin Freeman (Faye), Enoch Jimmy Freeman (Jean), and Cathy Butler; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

To know Beverly was to love her! Beverly was a selfless individual who was always looking out for the concerns of others. She had a beautiful smile and a beautiful soul that warmed the world around her. Beverly was known for her generous heart and her unmatched ability to make everyone feel loved. She brought many people into her family over the years, and she generously gave them a home, a friend, security, and unwavering compassion like only she could give. She was fiercely loyal and protective of everyone in her life. Beverly was always someone you could count on, whether you needed help or a listening ear, she would make sure she was there when you needed her.

Because she knew practically everyone and everything, Beverly was always the one to ask if you needed to find out any information. When you called her, you already knew you would hear her famous line of "don't tell nobody, but!" It was a running joke among her loved ones, and she knew she was beloved for it, along with all the other endearing things that made her Beverly. Her family, her friends, and all who knew her will so greatly miss her funny, passionate, and loving presence. She believed deeply in the power and importance of "I love you," and lived her life in a way that so clearly embodied that phrase and always encouraged others to never leave it unsaid. Beverly leaves behind a void that can never be filled, a legacy of generosity, and cherished memories that will never fade.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 11:00AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Keith Presley officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
