Mrs. Betty Pittman West, age 81, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born in Robeson County on June 15, 1934 to the late Daniel Pittman and the late Maie Duncan Pittman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Pittman and Johnny Pittman; four sisters, Margie McKenzie, Bonnie Barnes, Ruth Jolly and Helen Chandler and a grandson, Brandon Penney. Mrs. West is survived by her son, Ervin Donald West of Lumberton; two daughters, Betty Catherine Penney (Pete) of Lumberton and Sandra K. Carnes (Steve) of Fayetteville; a brother, Jimmy Pittman of Lumberton; two sisters, Janice Smith (Howard) of Virginia Beach, VA and Peggy Cothran (Andy) of Fayetteville; one granddaughter, Paula Fairfax (Mike) of Hope Mills and four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Gracie, Grayson and Carson. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 6:00-8:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00AM at East Lumberton Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at West Family Cemetery in Lumberton.
