Mrs. Betty Lou Thompson, 92, of Pembroke, NC, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 14, 1930 to the late Oakley Allen and the late Pearl Wilson Allen. She was formerly employed as a seamstress until she retired. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and going to yard sales.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Purvis Thompson; her brothers: Curt Allen, Ertle Allen, and Austin Allen; and her sister, Florence Thompson.

She is survived by her sons, Terry Eugene Thompson and wife Sherry and William Larry Thompson and wife Nancy, all of Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren: Elaine Thompson Williamson and husband Scott of Cerro Gordo, NC, Dawn Thompson Hunt and her husband Jeff, and Duane Thompson; and her great-grandchildren: Tanner Williamson, Tanner Clary, and Peyton Clary.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.
