Ms. Betty Stephens Prevatte, age 77, of 459 Jonesville Rd. Fairmont departed this life Wednesday September 11, 2013 at her home. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 13, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tim Tyner officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. She was born March 3, 1936 in Robeson County. Pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse, she graduated from Robeson County Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. Her nursing career lasted 44 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Branden A. Stephens and Esther Willis Stephens, and one sister, Faye Ingram. She is survived by three daughters, Kim Ammons and husband Jerry of Fairmont, Donna Sealey and husband Brent of Orrum, and Pam Callahan and husband Lennon of Fairmont; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
