Betty "Joyce" Smith Freeman, age 88, of Fairmont, NC passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023. She was born June 11, 1935 in Robeson County to the late Albert Smith and the late Addie Pittman Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Freeman and her siblings.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Gene Freeman and his wife, Dr. Allison Freeman of Grand Island, NY and Henderson NV; one daughter, Deborah Freeman and her husband, Larry Freeman of Rowland, NC; two grandchildren, Alexandra Robertson and Laike Watts; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Brooke Robertson, Hayla and Cooper Watts; special friends, Sue Ellis, Chuck and Linda Gail Wester, Tom and Pat Britt, Annie Ruth Leggett, and Linda Freeman.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 6:00-7:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC.
