Betty Knox Britt, 89, of Orrum, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Scottish Pines Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Laurinburg. She was born June 22, 1927 in Sylacauga, AL to the late Robert Knox & Ida Ballard Knox. She was formerly employed as a Program Administrator for NC Department of Corrections.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Maggie Lee Kroll, and one son, Virgil C. "Chuck" Britt III.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil C. Britt, Jr. of the home; one son, Robert "Robin" Knox Britt and wife Vickie M. of Lumberton; three daughters: Anne Goodwin and husband Bill of Gallatin, TN, Gayle Conlee and husband John of Goodlettsville, TN, and Sheila Britt Webb and husband Mike of Laurinburg; a daughter-in-law, Vickie S. Britt; nine grandchildren: Rebecca, Amanda, Brent, Jennifer, Jessica, Johnny, Trey, Lauren, and Jared; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 6:00 PM at Britt Family Cemetery in Orrum. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the graveside.
