Mrs. Bessie Rouse Walters, age 86, of Orrum, NC, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Liberty Commons Rehab in Whiteville, NC. Ms. Walters was born August 30, 1936 in Robeson County, NC to the late Isham Rouse and the late Pearl Warwick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donley Walters; a brother, Lacy Rouse; and three sisters: Pauline Smith, Elsie Smith, and Eva Williamson.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna W. Freeman of Orrum, NC; one brother, Willie Rouse of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters, Ida Scott (Alton) of Fairmont, NC and Elois Surles of Lumberton, NC; one loving granddaughter, Kellie Freeman of Orrum, NC; a sister-in-law, Brenda Rouse of Fairmont, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 2:00PM at Bloomingdale Baptist Church, 1758 Bloomingdale Road in Orrum, NC. Family will visit with friends following the service.
