Bessie Rose Watson Carmical, age 88, of Lumberton, NC died on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Glen Flora in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 16, 1922 to the late Neill Pat Watson and Margaret Gay Easterling Watson. She retired after teaching in Robeson County for over twenty-five years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lumberton and taught the Emma Norment Sunday School Class for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Neill Pat Watson and Margaret Gay Easterling Watson; her husband, William Carmical; four brothers, David Watson, N.P. Watson, Earle Watson and Donald Watson; and two sisters, Isabel Canady and Dorothy McPhaul.

Mrs. Carmical is survived by two sons, Mike Carmical and wife Debbie of Liberty, SC and Stan Carmical and wife Beth of Lumberton, NC; two daughters, Kathy Carmical of Lumberton, NC and Marian Carmical and husband Ed Boyce of Carthage NC; a sister, Gay Watson of Red Springs, NC; and five grandchildren, Hannah Carmical, William Boyce, Ivey Elizabeth Pope, Leah A. Carmical and Kathryn Carmical.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Lumberton with Dr. Matt Rich officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
