Berry "Duke" Hunt, age 54, of Rowland, NC passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at his home. He was born on April 14, 1972 in Robeson County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lathen "Pete" Hunt; and a brother, Timmy Locklear.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy L. Hunt of the home; two sons, Lathan Hunt of Rowland, NC and Anthony Colvill; a daughter, Savannah Hunt (Daries) of Virginia;  brothers, Anthony "Dee Dee" Hunt (Tara) of Fairmont, NC, Larry Locklear of Rowland, NC, and Teddy Locklear and Ronald Locklear (Joni), all of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Linda Hunt (Rev. Timmy) of Fairmont, NC and Ava "Mankie" Locklear (Jeff) of Pembroke NC; four grandchildren, Riesa Hollingsworth, Kinzley Hollingsworth, Cheyenne Hollingsworth, and LaTrelle Hollingsworth; special nieces, Melinda Hunt (Joseph) and Jasmin Oxendine, both of Fairmont, NC; special nephews, Garrison Hunt of Rowland, NC and Patches Hunt of Fairmont, NC; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends; and a special friend, Bessie Chavis of Lumberton, NC.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 5, 2026 at Benson Chapel Baptist Church.  The funeral will follow at 3:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Benson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Rowland, NC.
