Bernice Wilson Brooks, age 88, of Lumberton, NC died on Monday, January 4, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC, the daughter of the late Kelly and Louvenia Stone Wilson on December 6, 1921. She previously worked for Southeastern Regional Medical Center as a receptionist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Hazel Wilson and a brother, Harry Wilson.

She is survived by two nieces, Quintalyn Byrd and husband Justin of Lumberton, NC and Jacquelyn Adcox and husband Keith of Lumberton, NC; a sister-in-law, Corinne Wilson of San Diago, CA; and a first cousin, Harry Stone, Jr. of Salisbury, NC.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 2:30 PM at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. LeRoy Burke officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday prior to the service at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
