Ms. Bernetha Locklear Oxendine, of Fairmont, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, ending her journey of 90 years.

Ms. Bernetha was born April 18, 1933 in Robeson County to the late Brady Locklear and the late Vista Strickland Locklear.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Oxendine, Sr.; a daughter, Wendy Oxendine; a son, Perry "Frizz" Oxendine; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Oxendine; a brother, C.L. "Buddy"; two sisters, Irma Wyke and Clem Rice.

She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Cleveland "Kojack" Oxendine, Jr., Kenny Oxendine (Doris), and Don Oxendine (Sindoria), all of Fairmont, NC; three daughters, Anita Oxendine (fiancé Dobbs) of the home, Gwen Oxendine, and LaToria Oxendine (fiancé James Redell Oxendine "Buddy"), all of Fairmont, NC; five grandchildren, Donya A. Oxendine, Kimberly N. Lowery (Ty), Jamie Oxendine (Winona), Chad Oxendine (Shirley), and Corie Oxendine (Natalie); seven great-grandchildren, Kanaan Locklear, Cristyn Oxendine, Keylan Oxendine, Kendrick Oxendine, Kaisley Lowery, Priseis F. Oxendine and Paxton R. Oxendine; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 2:00-3:00 PM at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church, 3854 Iona Church Road, Fairmont, NC. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 PM.

Burial will be in New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Cemetery, 3396 Iona Church Road, Fairmont, NC.
