Barry Ellison Smith, Sr., age 55, of Lumberton, passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 16, 2011. He was born in Robeson County on April 4, 1956 to the late Robert E. Smith and to Delma Lawson Smith. He previously worked as a painter.

Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Delma Lawson Smith of Lumberton; his son, Barry E. Smith, Jr. of Lumberton; one brother, Danny Smith of Lumberton; two sisters, Teresa Driggers and husband, Ronald of Lumberton and Brenda Ann Bringle and husband, Ken of Pembroke; three nephews, Trae Kinlaw and Michael and Jeff Britt; two special great-nephews, Matthew and JoJo Britt; one special great-niece, Keelee Britt; a special friend, Lanelle Faulk of Lumberton and a grandchild, August Musselwhite.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 4:30PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. David McNeill and Rev. Grayson McNeill officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, October 18, 2011 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.
