Barbara Bullock McRae, 70, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Proctorville, NC and Greensboro, NC, died November 4, 2009 in Atlanta.

A memorial celebration of her life will be Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Proctorville Cemetery.

Mrs. McRae was preceded in death by her parents, William Raeford Bullock and Mary Rosa Lee Hedgpeth Bullock and her beloved husband, Dr. William Kenneth McRae.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim McRae and husband, Frank Zamor of Atlanta, GA; her son, Chad McRae and wife, Anne and their son Will of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Rose Oliver and husband Edsel and Patricia Ivey and husband Thomas Faye Ivey all of Proctorville, NC; brother-in-law, Ed Morton and wife, Marguerite of Fairmont, NC; a very dear friend, Sarah McRae Martin of Troy, NC; and one niece and three nephews.

Barbara was a dedicated wife and mother who loved her family, her friends, her community and making everyone feel loved, ??at home? and well fed. She attended Orrum High School and Atlantic Christian College. She loved her career as a cosmetologist, working at the Friends Home in Greensboro with her dear elder friends. Barbara adored gardening, working in her yard and her animals. She bravely lived with Lewy Body dementia and her courage has left an important legacy. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
