Barbara Elaine Hunt Stewart, age 75, of Fairmont passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020.

Mrs. Stewart was born February 24, 1946 in Robeson County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vardell Hunt and Hezebeth Locklear Hunt; her husband, Billy Stewart; and two brothers, Vardell Hunt Jr. and R.C. Hunt.

Barbara was well known and loved by all who knew her. She loved just sitting around talking and laughing with people. Being raised as a country girl she especially liked working in her yard and being outside. She enjoyed cooking for her family and trying different things. She will be greatly missed, especially her warm smile that seemed to brighten your day when you were in her presence.

She is survived by a son, Gil Clinton Hunt Sr. and girlfriend Debra Locklear of Pembroke; one daughter, Kathy Elaine Hunt of the home; two sisters, Sandra Oxendine of Dillon, SC and Clemietine Locklear of Lumberton; a granddaughter she raised, Summer Locklear (Jon) of Fairmont; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be held Friday, October 9, 2020 at 3PM at Northside Independent Church Cemetery on Hilly Branch Rd. with Pastor Timmy Hunt officiating.

The family will visit with friends following the service at the graveside.
