Ms. Barbara Ann Freeman, age 83, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on February 17, 1943 to the late Otis George & Dorothy Mae Lloyd. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Otis Lloyd Jr. and Jerry Lloyd, and her sister, Phyllis Lloyd Allen.

She is survived by her son, Terry Freeman of Lumberton, NC; her granddaughter, Christy Ann Freeman; and a host of cousins.

Barbara was known as an active person, always on the go. She spent her younger years involved in various athletics. She was always known as someone you could call on if you needed help, someone to remind you to do what you want to do no matter how big your dreams, and when you are going through something hard to take it one step at a time. When not spending time with her son or going to her granddaughter's sporting events, you could always find her with her hands in the dirt in her garden or shagging on the nearest dance floor.

We will be celebrating her life with a graveside service held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. Tony Stevens officiating.
