Bailey Wayne Floyd, age 81, of Fairmont, NC died at Southeastern Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. He was born in Robeson County, NC on October 26, 1930 to the late Preston Bailey Floyd and the late Pauline Nye Floyd. He was a veteran of the United States Army and formerly was a teacher and coach for Fairmont City Schools.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Graham.

Mr. Floyd is survived by his wife, Kathryn Oliver Floyd of the home; a daughter, Betsy Floyd Tusai and husband Mike of Sunset Beach; two sons, John Wayne Floyd and wife Carolyn of Ocean Isle Beach and Preston Scott Floyd and wife Allison of Lexington, SC; and five grandchildren, Joseph Edgar Floyd, Nancy Kathryn Floyd, Preston Giles Floyd, Mary Claire Floyd and Spencer Thomas Floyd.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church in Fairmont with Rev. Rich Denning officiating. A time for visitation will follow the service at the church.

Burial will be private.
