Mrs. Avis Marie Barnes Tedder, age 81, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015, at her home. She was born in Robeson County on December 28, 1933 to the late Oliver Kenton & Ruby McCall Barnes.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Byron Tedder.

Mrs. Avis is survived by her daughter, Jan Tedder-Rogers and husband Tony of Fairmont and their daughter Hannah Nicholson and husband Tyler; her son, Ron Tedder and wife Tona of Knightdale and their children Lee Tedder and wife Haley, Eric Tedder, and L.A. Tedder; two great-grandchildren: Katelyn & Carsyn Tedder; one brother, Leon Barnes of Lumberton and his children, Kenny and Karen Barnes; and her special extended family: Charlie & Teresa Hamaty and their children, Victoria, Christian, and Paris, of Wake Forest and Candy Phipps of Topsail Island.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, 1:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Dalma Cribb officiating. A sweets reception will follow the service at the fellowship hall.

Burial will take place at 3:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery.
