Avery Gray Ellis, age 80, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on September 5, 1945, to the late Avery Lee Parker & Vera Mae Walters Parker. She was employed in the textiles industry as a supervisor for many years. In her spare time, Gray loved to read, work in her yard, and she enjoyed her coloring books.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eldon Vance Ellis; two brothers, Ronald Parker and Roger Parker; and two sisters, Dale Pittman and Shirley Britt.

She is survived by her daughter, Annette Lane (Carl) of Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren: Shawn "Bill" Lane (Abbey Coward), Lesley Pittman (Jason), Brandon Rowland (Brittany), and Amber Lane-Keistler (Ryan); and her great-grandchildren: Vance, Samuel, Nicholas, Harper, McKenna, Lainey, and Eden.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. John Keistler officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones at the graveside and other times at the home of Annette & Carl Lane.
