Avaleigh Joyce Hawkins of Lumberton, NC, died on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.

She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Lenora and Ervin Gilchrist; her maternal great-grandparents: Archie & Joyce Taylor and Henry Stephens; her paternal grandfather, Anthony Hawkins, Sr.; and her brother, Princeton Damontae Hawkins.

She is survived by her parents, Natalie Parnell and Anthony Hawkins, Jr. of Lumberton, NC; two brothers, Jamari and Messiah Hawkins, both of Lumberton, NC; her maternal grandparents, Sherry and Gary Parnell of Lumberton, NC; her paternal grandmother, Ellen Gilchrist; and her maternal great-grandmother, Margaret Stephens; as well as a whole host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Eastwood Holiness Church, 1926 McPhail Road in Lumberton, NC, with Pastor Mark Simmons officiating.
