Mrs. Ava "Judy" Barnes Miller, age 92, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Wesley Pines Retirement Center in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on June 17, 1932 to the late Julius Derwood & Mabel West.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husbands, William David Israel, Charles Luby Barnes, and Thomas Roosevelt Miller; her son, Charles "Chuck" Barnes; a daughter, Mary Denise Britt and a son-in-law, Garry Britt.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicky Talton (Johnny) and Jan Lee (Tommy), both of Lumberton, NC; an adopted son, Donnie Britt (Rita) of Newport News, VA; 6 grandchildren: Tonya Britt Long (Chris) of Bladenboro, NC, William Talton of Lumberton, NC, Lee Britt formerly of Lumberton, NC, and Chad Barnes (Chandler), Chris Norton, and Samantha Strickland (Mario), all of Lumberton, NC; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mark Meadows officiating.
