Ashby Hammonds' Obituary
Ten Bears (Ashby Hammonds), age 66 of Lumberton, NC died on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 3:00 PM at First Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Pembroke, NC with Rev. Earl Chavis, Rev. Rick Dial and Rev. Joe Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Church Cemetery in Fairmont, NC.
A visitation will be held on Sunday evening, January 24 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
His is survived by his mother, Maggie Hammonds of Stansfield, NC; three sons, Mickie Jones of the home, Charles W. E. Hammonds of Lumberton, NC and Don Porter o Saddle Tree, NC; one daughter, Linda Kay Hunt of Fairmont, NC; two brothers, James Ray Hammonds of Polkton, NC and Barney Chavis of Rowland, NC; three sisters, Linda Yow of Stansfield, NC, Katie Mae Dial and Essie Locklear both of Pembroke, NC; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
