Anthony Ray "Dee Dee" Hunt, age 55, of Fairmont, NC passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.

He was born on December 27, 1970 in Robeson County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lathen "Pete" Hunt; and two brothers, Berry "Duke" Hunt and Timmy Locklear.

He is survived by his wife, Tara Hunt of the home; his mother, Peggy L. Hunt of Rowland, NC; two daughters, Jasmin Oxendine of Fairmont, NC and Jessica Locklear (Nakota) of Pembroke, NC; a son, Robert Oxendine of Fairmont, NC; two sisters, Linda Hunt (Rev. Timmy) of Fairmont, NC and Ava "Mankey" Locklear (Jeff) of Pembroke, NC; three brothers, Larry Locklear of Rowland, NC, Teddy Locklear and Ronald Locklear (Joni), all of Lumberton, NC; seven grandchildren, Jayce Oxendine, Journee Oxendine, Nahonna Oxendine, Raylon Oxendine, Joslyn Bisbee, Bryson Faulk, and Myla Chavis and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Benson Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will immediately follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery in Rowland, NC.
