Anthony Carter, age 55, of Lumberton NC passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born December 31, 1967 in Scotland County, NC.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnie Carter; his paternal grandparents, Weldon Carter and Elvie "Sis" Hunt Carter; his maternal grandparents, Paul Hunt and Lora Mae Hunt.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Cynthia "Dawny" Carter of the home; his mother, Linda Hunt Carter of Lumberton, NC; two sons, Adrian Carter and wife Elleree of Lumberton, NC, and Cole A. Carter of the home; two daughters, Tara Carter and fiancé, TC Chavis of Lumberton, NC and Nya C. Carter and friend, Johnathan McMillian of the home; one sister, Chanel Young and husband, James Leon of Indian Trail, NC;  three grandchildren, Taliha Chavis, Harper Chavis, and Alton Hunt all of Lumberton, NC; four nephews,  Aaron and Devon Young of Indian Trail, NC, Tristan and Chase Locklear of Pembroke, NC; one niece, Keely Locklear of Pembroke, NC; a special cousin, Cookie Hunt of Fairmont, NC; his mother and father-in-law, Bobby Carl and Ruby Locklear of Pembroke, NC; a brother-in-law, Carl Dean Locklear and wife Joyce of Pembroke, NC; two fur babies, Sugar and Bella whom he loved;  and a great host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC. Funeral service services will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Terry Hunt and Bishop Lesaundri Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in McDonald Holiness Church Cemetery, 8669 NC Hwy 130 in Fairmont, NC.
