Annie Ruth Stone Briggs, 91, of 806 Barker Ten Mile Road in Lumberton, NC died May 13, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Lumberton. She was born February 22, 1918 to Henry David Stone and Mary Pittman Stone in Robeson County, NC.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hilton Briggs and her son Carl Briggs.

Mrs. Briggs is survived by one brother, Paul Stone, Sr. and wife Carolyn of Lumberton, NC; two nephews, Paul Stone, Jr. and wife Dyanne of Lumberton, NC, Ronnie Raybon and wife Janet of Charlotte, NC and one niece, Gail Stone Johnson and wife Johnnie of Elizabethtown, NC; and two grandchildren, Brian Briggs and Brandon Briggs.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Godwin Heights Baptist Church with the Reverend David Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at the Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.
