Ms. Annie Ruth Stephens, 61, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022. She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 28, 1961 to the late Thomas Stephens and the late Ada Ruth Haywood Callahan. She loved most in life spending time with her family, especially her sons, her dog, Miracle, and working in her garden.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Freeman, and a sister, Janet Miller.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Larry Jacobs; three sons: Adam Hammonds and wife Kristian of Lumberton, NC, James Stephens of Ft. Polk, LA, and Johnny Lee Haywood and wife Rebecca of Orrum, NC; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Callahan and wife Kelly of Orrum, NC and Junior Stephens of Western NC; two sisters, Debra Callahan and fiancé Buddy Pittman of White Lake, NC and Theresa Davis of Orrum, NC; and a special family friend, Melissa Hill.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 11:00AM – 12:30PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E.5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
