Mrs. Annie Ruth Willoughby Smith, 95, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at Carrolton of Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 3, 1928 to the late Charlie & Grace Willoughby.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert "Junior" Smith, Jr.; her brother, Jim Baker Willoughby; and her sister, Peggy Willoughby Somers.

She is survived by her sons, James "Jimmy" William Smith (Lavon) of Dunn, NC and Mitchell "Mickey" Ray Smith (Kathy) of Lumberton, NC; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; her brothers, Alton Willoughby (Donna) and Robert Willoughby (Sandy), both of Lumberton, NC; and her sisters, Olga Byrd of Fayetteville, NC and Reba Taylor of DeLand, FL.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Pastor David Hawes and Pastor Tony Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
