Mrs. Annie Ruth Lawson Davis, age 92, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Glen Flora Assisted Living Center of Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on November 30, 1921 to the late Grady L. and Ida Bell Taylor Lawson. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Davis, four brothers, Roney Lawson, Lemuel Lawson, Howard Lawson, and Ertle Lawson, and two sisters, Dorothy Lloyd and Delma Smith. She is survived by her son, Freeman "Jimmy" Davis, Jr. and wife, Jackie, of Fernley, NV, six daughters, Billie Britt of Lumberton, Carol Lewis and husband, Glen, of Fayetteville, Shelby Young and husband, Joe, of Lumberton, Dianne Garner and husband, Bill, also of Lumberton, Ida Marie Taylor and husband, Tom, of St. Pauls, and Jennifer Davis of Lumberton, one brother, Frank Lawson of New Port Richey, FL, three sisters, Mildred Shumpert of Lumberton, Marilyn Sealey of Fairmont, and Roxie Cordray of McConnelsville, OH, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
