Annie Ruth Brock Mears, age 86, of Lumberton, NC died on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Greenbrier Nursing Center in Fairmont.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on February 6, 1930 to the late Gilbert Moses and Lydia Moore Brock.  She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hoke Mears.

Mrs. Mears is survived by her son, Kenneth Meares (Karroll) of Lumberton; daughter, Kay Frances Meares of Lumberton; brother, William Aaron Brock (Jean) of Laurinburg; granddaughter, Kimberly Walsh (Dan) of Murrells Inlet, SC; great-grandsons, Trey Floyd of Fairmont and Hunter Floyd (Katie) of Murrells Inlet, SC; and two special nieces, Linda Lamb of Fairmont, and Beverly Lay of Waynesville.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 1:30 PM at New Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Lewter and Rev. Mary Holden officiating.  A time of visitation with the family will be held Tuesday prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers memorials are encouraged to be made to Trinity Holiness Church Memorial Fund, 5650 Fayetteville Road, Lumberton, NC 28358.
