Mrs. Ann Roberts Melvin of Advance, NC, formerly of Mars Hill, NC, went to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, August 04, 2011 in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Burnsville, NC on May 8, 1932. She graduated from Wake Forest University in 1954.

Mrs. Melvin is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Melvin.

She is survived by her daughters, Vera (Jeff) Williamson of Winston-Salem, NC and Laurie (Mark) Halvorsen of Kingsport, TN and her son, Bailey (Cammie) Melvin of Greenville, NC; two brothers, Jim (Sue Ann) Roberts of St. George, UT and Mike (Nancy) Roberts of Durham, NC; two sister-in-laws, Harriett Melvin of Lumberton, NC and Rachel Melvin of Flat Rock, NC; her brother-in-law, Harold Mitchell of Valdese, NC and thirteen grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 1:30PM at Philadelphus Presbyterian Church in Red Springs, NC with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating.

A Memorial service will also be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 3:00PM at the Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Hopkins officiating.
