Mrs. Amanda Gray Brisson Britt, wife of Alan Britt, age 48, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 8, 2018. She was born on August 7, 1970 in Robeson County to the late James Brisson, Sr. and Patsy Walton Brisson. Upon graduation from Littlefield High School in 1988, she began working at First Baptist Church in Lumberton in the Early Childhood Ministry as a preschool teacher. First Baptist Church is also where she met her husband, Alan, and they were married on November 7, 1998. During her twenty-five years there, she touched many lives with her love and compassion for young children. And just this past August, she had the privilege of continuing to work with children as she began working as a preschool teacher at Antioch Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Abby Britt of the home; her mother, Patsy Walton Brisson, who lives in Lumberton; two brothers: James Brisson, Jr. and wife Robin and John Brisson, all of Lumberton; one sister, Audrey Brisson Kinlaw and husband Kelly of Fayetteville; and several loving nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she loved singing in the choir and taking part in the annual Singing Christmas Tree service. She also loved to cook and looked forward to preparing food for large family gatherings. Her greatest joy, though, was raising her daughter, Abby, whom she always called the "light of her life".
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Cherry Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Lumberton.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 606 N. Walnut Street in Lumberton with Dr. David Elks and Pastor Mark Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
