Mr. Alton G. ??Tunney? Brooks, age 84, of Edenton, NC, formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Friday, May 04, 2012 at Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton. He was born in Nash County on June 28, 1927 to the late Wade Ruffin Brooks and the late Bronna Bray Brooks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys ??Frances? Brooks.

Mr. Brooks is survived by two sons, Richie Brooks and wife, Carol of Lumberton, NC and John Brooks and wife, Sherri of Easley, SC; one daughter, Debbie Morris and husband, Enoch of Springfield, MO; one sister, Ellen Deans of Wilson, NC; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 4:00PM at the Lumberton High School Gymnasium.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10:00AM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
