Alma Parker Britt, 88, of Lumberton, NC died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Wesley Pines Retirement Community in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County, NC on October 24, 1923 to the late Allen Parker and Mollie Britt Parker. She was a self-employed homemaker.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ira Britt; a son, Jessie Britt; two son-in-laws, Edward Prevatte and Bennie Porter; a grandson, Justin Miller; two sisters, Marlene Parker and Isolene Britt; and three brothers, Rexford Parker, Johnson Parker and George Parker.

Mrs. Britt is survived by two sons, James Wade Britt and wife Melba of Lumberton and Richard Britt and wife Penny of Orrum; six daughters, Brenda Prevatte of West Columbia, SC, Betty Rogers and husband Larry of Orrum, Lib Hardin and husband Mickey of Fairmont, Rita Cox and husband Ronnie of Lumberton and Connie Pittman and husband Paul of Orrum; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Britt of Lumberton; brother, Lutton ??Tom? Parker of Orrum; two sisters, Clara Mae Phillips of Lumberton and Edna Earl Parker of Orrum; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Broad Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Worley officiating.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
