Aline Cox Britt, 87, passed away January 6, 2015 at the Glen Flora Nursing Center in Lumberton. A graveside service for Mrs. Britt will be held at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. and will be officiated by Rev. James Graham. There will be a visitation at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory of Lumberton from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m as well as other times at Mrs. Britt's home. She was born to Wesley Cox and Novella Britt of Robeson County on December 10, 1927. Mrs. Britt was a devoted mother to her children and a dedicated wife to her late husband, George Britt. In addition to her aforementioned husband, Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Stinson Cox and Alton Cox, and a sister, Jessie Hardin. To cherish her memory she leaves behind daughters Sharon Britt of Salisbury, NC, Myra Britt of Orrum, NC, and Donna Freeman (Al) of Lumberton; a sister, Bernice Barnes, of Fayetteville; four grandsons, Chris, Steven, Heath, and Alex, as well as a host of family, friends, and neighbors. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403.
