Alice "Kay" Rouse, age 77, of Lumberton. North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

She was born April 2, 1948 in Duplin County to the late Eugene Gurganious and the late Colleen Padgett. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Earl Rouse.

Kay will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a devoted Christian, and all about her family. She especially enjoyed her church family and going to church every chance she got.

Mrs. Rouse survived by her son, Brian E. Rouse (Marsha), of Wilmington, North Carolina; her daughter Donna R. Holden (Lamar) of Lumberton, North Carolina; two sisters, Joyce Hopper, of Madison, North Carolina and Jean Barnes, of Wilmington, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Whitney, Josh, Tyler, and Sophia; four great-grandchildren, Shane, Skyler, Elizabeth, and Madison; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, In Memory of Alice Kay Rouse.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at East Lumberton Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM on Thursday, at East Lumberton Baptist Church.

The burial will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2:00 pm, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wilmington, NC.
